Aug 4, 2004 : FiberCloud Buys Hosting Firm Compass

📅 - Colocation provider FiberCloud (fibercloud.com -> lunavi.com) has acquired Compass Communications (ccom.net), a Web hosting, colocation and Internet access provider, according to a report by HeraldNet. FiberCloud operates data center facilities in Bellingham and Everett, Washington. Compass Communications is based in nearby Seattle.

Under the deal, FiberCloud will take over Compass' data center facility in Seattle's Westin building, which also houses an Internet hub. The company also takes over a data center facility in Spokane, Washington, just outside Bellingham. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
George Henry, president of FiberCloud, told HeraldNet that the Seattle presence gives the company a significant footprint in the core center of the region and gives Compass customers the option of having off-site servers in Bellingham and Everett. He added that several customers in Seattle have already inquired about setting up backup and disaster recovery solutions in FiberCloud's facilities in Bellingham and Everett.
