) announced on Thursday it has expanded into a 3,000 square foot data center in Los Angeles, California, adding to its growing list of strategically placed data centers located throughout North America.


UnitedLayer offers a suite of Internet infrastructure services including managed bandwidth, colocation and infrastructure services. UnitedLayer says that power delivery and environmental controls are essential to the success of their data centers. During the recent power event in San Francisco, UnitedLayer's customers did not experience any downtime.

"Our expansion in our 530 West 6th facility is part of our ongoing commitment to providing expanded service options to our customers," says Richard Donaldson, UnitedLayer's VP of sales, marketing and development. "Given the demand for datacenter space, we are excited to have this facility operational and open for business."

UnitedLayer has partnered with data center design, build and maintenance provider DPAir to provide state-of-the art HVAC, cooling tower and uninterruptible power supply equipment for the new data center. DPAir recently installed two 20-ton HVAC units and modified ductwork to optimize airflow as well as provided consultation on the installation of the center's new UPS and maintenance bypass equipment to ensure the facility's round-the-clock operation.
