📅 September 13, 2004 - Web hosting and Internet service provider XO Communications (xo.com ) announced on Monday that it has been selected as the official telecommunications provider for Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners.

Under the agreement, XO will provide local voice, long distance voice and data services for the team's front office operations at Safeco Field, all eight Mariners team stores, and the team's spring training complex in Peoria, Arizona.
"We're very pleased to welcome our newest corporate partner to the Seattle Mariners and Safeco Field," says Bob Aylward, executive vice president of business operations for the Seattle Mariners. "XO Communications has earned a reputation for innovation and outstanding customer service, two qualities we strive to embody here at the Mariners."
XO also announced that it is the new naming sponsor for the Diamond Club, a premium seating section at the Mariner's home stadium Safeco Field.
"XO serves more than 5,500 businesses in the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. We are very proud to be recognized for the quality of our services by being selected by the Mariners as their official telecommunications provider," says Stuart Stiles, general manager of XO's Seattle and Spokane offices.
