) announced on Tuesday that it has launched a low-cost Windows dedicated server for £29 per month, the same price it is offering for its low-cost Linux dedicated server. The company said it hopes the offering will help increase its share of the SME hosting market and is part of its ongoing efforts to ensure its product offerings evolve in line with market demands.

"Windows for the price of Linux is an unprecedented hosting offer in the UK and a very meaningful gesture to the market," says Dick Theunissen, president of Amen. "Not only do we want to keep serving Linux and open source customers, but our aim is also to democratize access to Windows dedicated hosting."
The new Windows dedicated server runs on Windows Server 2003 and comes with the Plesk 7.0 control panel. The servers come with either an AMD Duron 1600MHz, AMD Athlon 2400 MHz or AMD XP 2800 MHz CPU, 256 MB, 512 MB or 768 MB RAM, 80GB or 120 GB of hard drive space, monthly traffic of 1024 GB, 1- 4 IP addresses, ASP.net and a reseller interface.
The £29 per month price is available until January 2, 2005 with a six-month commitment. The regular price is £49 per month. Amenworld does not charge set-up fees for its server packages.
Amenworld rolled out its Linux-based discount dedicated server in September.
