The Planet was recently named an official sponsor for The CPL, a league of expert computer gamers that organizes live and online tournaments worldwide, advancing gaming to the level of professional sports.
The Winter Championships will feature four computer game tournaments rewarding $160,000 in cash prizes, a Bring Your Own Computer impromptu gaming site, exhibitions, a spectator arena, and workshops. Insomnia365 will provide Internet connectivity and Network Operations Center staff for BYOC, and is the event's exclusive North American HLTV stream provider, accommodating 60,000 online spectators.
