Dec 15, 2004 : SWsoft Unveils Virtuozzo for Windows

📅 December 15, 2004 - Web hosting automation software developer SWsoft (sw-soft.com) announced on Wednesday that it has released the controlled version of Virtuozzo for Windows, the company's flagship server virtualization solution. Virtuozzo partitions a single physical server into multiple "virtual servers" that perform and behave just like standalone dedicated servers.

"We are hearing more and more from customers that due to our low overhead, efficiency and manageability, Virtuozzo is the only true VPS solution available for hosting service providers," says Serguei Beloussov, CEO of SWsoft. "Virtuozzo for Windows incorporates all of the proven capabilities of Virtuozzo for Linux on the Windows platform with the same advanced resource management, isolation, security and a full set of comprehensive management tools."
The Planet (theplanet.com -> softlayer.com -> ibm.com) and Amen (amenworld.com ) are the first hosting service providers to deploy Virtuozzo for Windows. To this point, Virtuozzo has only been available for Linux.
"We have used the combination of SWsoft's Plesk and Virtuozzo for Linux to offer a tightly integrated and easy to use solution that includes thousands of expected and proven features," says Dick Theunissen, president of Amen. "Immediately after we launched the Linux version in June, our customers started inquiring about the release and support of a Windows version of Virtuozzo. SWsoft has produced yet another solid product that will help us attract more customers and more revenue."
