Feb 11, 2005 : Rackforce Takes Down Shareeah.org Site

📅 February 11, 2005 - Canadian Web hosting provider Rackforce (rackforce.com) said on Thursday that it has taken down the shareeah.org Web site reportedly being hosted on its servers.

The shareeah.org Web site is allegedly linked to the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization. Shareeah is a concept of Islamic rule and supporters of the Web site are reportedly considered radical.
Rackforce said it consulted with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's Integrated Tech Crimes Unit to determine there was sufficient evidence to invoke its acceptable user policy and take down the site. The company also cited section 12.1 of its master service agreement.
Kelowna, British Columbia-based Rackforce said it plans to continue working closely with the RCMP and deny any further service to the organization operating the Web site.
