Mar 17, 2005 : Limelight Appoints VP of Marketing
📅 - Colocation and content delivery provider Limelight Networks (limelightnetworks.com) announced on Wedneday that it had appointed Michael J. Sawyer as vice president of marketing. Sawyer will run the company's corporate and product marketing operations and will work closely with its product development team on the Limelight content delivery network.
"The arrival of Mike Sawyer as VP of marketing rounds out our management team and marks an important milestone as we prepare to step up our marketing efforts," says Bill Rinehart, CEO of Limelight Networks. "Mike has a proven track record in planning and executing the marketing strategies of successful content delivery businesses, and he will play a critical role in our ability to gain a major share of the market for online content delivery."
Prior to joining Limelight Networks, Sawyer was a partner with Milestone Equity Partners. He was also senior vice president of marketing for Aerocast, a secure broadband streaming media services joint venture of Motorola and Liberty Media.
Limelight Networks says it is preparing to expand its sales and marketing operations, with new regional sales offices slated for the Silicon Valley, New York City and Washington, DC. Plans are also being made to include increased inside sales and customer support operations in the newly expanded Tempe, Arizona headquarters.
