👈 Official Responses: 0 -> softlayer.com -> ibm.com) announced on Monday that it had deployed the TippingPoint's (tippingpoint.com) intrusion prevention system to prevent malicious attacks from entering the company's network and those of its customers. Since January The Planet has deployed 16 TippintPoint appliances in its three data centers.
 The company says it chose to deploy TippingPoint's system because of its ability to block attacks at multi-gigabit speeds with no effective latency. Each appliance provides two GBps of throughput and latency similar to an ethernet switch. The TippingPoint Security Management System is used to monitor and manage the system. "Our customers depend on The Planet to safeguard their networks and Web sites, and now that we've deployed the TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention Systems, we are doing so with even greater confidence and an unparalleled level of security," says John Bradberry, vice president of information security at The Planet. "We're also improving our market position by demonstrating security as a clear differentiator over our competitors." The Planet says the solution is successfully blocking hundreds of thousands of attacks per hour.
