Apr 25, 2005 : VeriSign Offering Three-Year SSL Certs


verisign.com logo📅 - Internet infrastructure services provider VeriSign (verisign.com) announced on Monday that it had would offer three-year term Secure Socket Layer certificates to its enterprise customers beginning next month.  
All the three-year certificates will enable 256-bit SSL encryption for compatible server and browser software. The company says the three-year term certificates can save customers up to 24 percent over yearly renewals.  "SSL-based security provides the critical conduit through which personal or confidential information is exchanged across the Internet," says Chad Kinzelberg, vice president of VeriSign Security Services. "Three-year SSL Certificates will provide enterprises with a more cost-effective alternative for deploying SSL, eliminating the year-over-year administrative task of renewing a certificate."
