📅 - Web hosting provider DIYHosting (diyhosting.com -> hostpapa.com) announced on Friday that it would launch a line of virtual private servers on June 1. The new line, branded as Project:VPS, will be available at projectvps.com (projectvps.com).
"VPS is a great solution for those not yet ready to make the move up to a dedicated solution, but have already outgrown a reseller account," says Deal Cahl, managing director of DIYHosting. The company says it wants its customers to be a part of building the VPS brand and is encouraging users to post suggestions in their forum. "We don't use the VPS solution, the customer does," says Simon O'Rourke, president of DIYHosting. "By allowing the customer to help mould the brand, it's allowing them to request features that may not have been a part of our offering, and may not be a feature they can request anywhere else."
