May 9, 2005 : NetOp Remote Control 8.0 Adds Console

📅 - Software developer CrossTec Corporation (crossteccorp.com) announced last week that it had released a new remote management console with version 8.0 of NetOp Remote Control, a system that enables system administrators to remotely troubleshoot end user machines without interrupting them.
The new console enables administrators to conduct remote maintenance on Windows hosts without remote controlling the host's desktop or interrupting the host user. Administrators can check the Windows Event log, determine the amount of available disk space on a machine, restart services and run command files directly from the console. "The Remote Management Console provides additional ROI benefits to an application that already has a solid reputation for saving organizations time and money," says Robert Rounsavall, technical product manager for NetOp Remote Control. "By eliminating the down time associated with remote troubleshooting, end users can remain productive without interruptions from administrators taking control of their machine." Additional features in version 8.0 include expanded capabilities for the Windows Security Server module, new deployment capabilities with NetOp's deployment utility, enhanced NetOp guest and host modules, improved multi-guest sessions, and the ability to view the Windows network as well as the NetOp Hosts.
