📅 June 7, 2005 - Cisco Systems (cisco.com) announced on Tuesday that Terremark (terremark.com ) had integrated Cisco technology to expand its portfolio of managed services.

Terremark's Service Insertion Layer, a single-service delivery platform, is built on Cisco technology and integrated directly into Terremark's exchange core backbone. By connecting to Terremark's Service Insertion Layer, service providers are able to connect to the world's largest carriers and deliver new services with significant economic efficiencies, the company says.

"The decision to integrate Cisco's IP NGN solution and replace our legacy platform was based on our belief that Cisco's technology and services roadmap are in perfect alignment with our service insertion capabilities and the market's demands," says Marvin Wheeler, chief operations officer at Terremark. "Our enhanced services insertion business model offers service providers a compelling solution to the ever-present problems of providing advanced IP services without making a major investment in a new infrastructure; while ensuring the high-quality and reliability that enterprise and carrier customers demand."

📅 Feb 9, 2009 - Terremark Delays Building in Santa Clara - Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com ) announced on Monday it has decided to delay the building of a data center in Santa Clara, California, focusing its development budget dollars instead on its data center in Virginia, the NAP of the Capital Region, according to a report by Data Center Knowledge.

The company says it is seeing significant demand for colocation and managed hosting services at the Culpeper, Virginia facility.
