Jul 14, 2005 : Host Color Adds PHP Pear Libraries

📅 July 14, 2005 - European Web hosting provider Host Color (hostcoloreurope.com -> hostcolor.com) announced on Thursday that as part of its PHP service it now has Pear PHP libraries available on all customer accounts. 
Vesselin Drangajov of Host Color says the additions are aimed at attracting developers, who typically have high hosting requirements. "To better understand how useful PHP Pear is one has to be familiar with the basics of Web scripts," says Venelin Mihaylov, software engineer at Host Color Europe. "To develop for example an application that creates barcodes for different products you'd need months to program this on your own. With the new libraries available you can just include the library Image_Barcode in your code and you have all the functions you need pre-written. Also for example, developers can easily build complex HTML elements such as HTML_Menu or a forum. This is just one of the many types of libraries that our customers can use." Mihaylov says the company has installed 80 percent of the stable libraries, which cover different areas of Web development such as authentication modules, database Modules, network operations and several others. The European division of Host Color launched in May.
