Jul 15, 2005 : Sibername Accredited for .eu

📅 July 15, 2005 - Canadian Web hosting provider and domain registrar Sibername (sibername.com ) announced this week that it had become the country's first registrar accredited to accept registrations for the forthcoming .eu top-level domain. The company says it will launch a European Web site before September and roll out Web hosting services with servers based in Manchester, United Kingdom.
"We are proud to be the first Canadian company accredited for .eu domain. Canada has a high percentage of European origin population and people in close contact with European countries for personal or business reasons," the company said in a release. "Our cost effective services will help our valued customers to establish their Web presence in Europe with the comfort of getting their services from a company that they have got good experience with for their .ca domain names." The .eu sunrise period is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of this year. Sibername says it will offer .eu registration at cost during the sunrise period with normal processing fees applicable.
