The sale is part of Inforum's previously announced plan to generate cash, to meet its growing need for capital, by selling off certain assets. The subscriber accounts sold to EarthLink represent about 60 per cent of Inforum's recurring revenues in the year 2000. Inforum began alerting its subscribers to the transition in service last week, and plans to work with EarthLink to make the integration as seamless as possible. After the transfer, Inforum subscribers will have access to EarthLink's services, including broadband and wireless offerings, navigation tools, personalised home pages, spam filtering programs, and dial-up access from almost anywhere in the US. Inforum says it is confident that EarthLink will continue to provide quality service to the subscribers, in addition to all the other benefits of EarthLink membership. EarthLink says it is pleased to add the Inforum subscribers to its list of users, and that it is committed to providing a seamless transition.
