Sep 6, 2005 : Telehouse Seminars Hit Broadband Issues
📅 - TELEHOUSE America (telehouse.com) said on Monday its Breakfast On Broadway July and August seminars were well attended, and delivered a specific focus on broadband services. Attendees gathered at Time Warner Cable's meeting room in July to hear Time Warner Cable and Limelight Networks discuss content delivery's trends and the shifting distribution concept within media and entertainment.
August's seminar at 25 Broadway featured a lecture on content delivery theme from Cogent Communications Group, which pinpointed carriers' efforts within the small-medium business segment. Bhupender Kaul, VP of Time Warner Cable Business Services, discussed the technological and economical issues facing today's large content provider.
Kaul argued that the substantial demand for analog content and migrating users to digital, the call for VOD, HD, HD-VOD, interactive TV, gaming, voice, and high-speed data products could potentially change the marketplace's content landscape.
Speaker Michael Gordon, co-founder and VP of strategy and corporate development for Limelight, discussed the direction of Internet technology and the growing focus on "user experience." Gordon also talked about the quality expected by different demographics and the industry's developments to deliver it.
