📅 - Communications provider MCI (mci.com) announced on Tuesday it has completed its acquisition of remote managed services provider Totality (totality.com).
The acquisition of the privately-held San Francisco company expands MCI's managed services capabilities and enables it to meet rising demands from enterprise and government customers to manage a range of IT functions end-to-end.
MCI now provides remote monitoring and management of applications whether they are hosted at MCI's colocation centers or at customer locations. The company can offer customers more flexible hosting options, including colocation services, enterprise hosting services and outsourcing of application management services.
"As more businesses and governments transition to IP, they are looking for higher-value services that help them better manage their IP infrastructure," says Jonathan Crane, MCI executive vice president and chief strategy officer. "This acquisition enables MCI to provide more fully integrated solutions from the networking to the application layer with the performance and reliability customers have come to expect from MCI."
