Oct 26, 2005 : Domain Central Lowers Domain Prices

📅 October 26, 2005 - Australian domain registrar and Web hosting provider Domain Central (domaincentral.com.au ) said on Wednesday that it had lowered pricing for its .com.au and .net.au domains to $38 Australian for two years.
"True to our goals, we aim to increase the Internet's accessibility for all businesses trading in Australia," says George Pongas, chief operating officer of Domain Central. "We were the first to break through the $50 barrier at $49 per two years, and are now the first to break through the $40 retail price point too." The company is offering .org.au, .id.au and .asn.au domains for the same price. According to Domain Central, the combined number of .com.au and .net.au domains reached 550,000 in September.
