The discounts apply to all of Host Color's Web hosting and domain registration packages. To qualify, customers are required to use their .edu email address when signing up. Representatives of non-governmental organizations will be asked to specify the institution that will use the hosting services.

"Our services have always been reasonably priced. We know however that for certain customers any expenses are significant," says Vesselin Drangajov, executive director of Host Color. "Students generally do not have much extra cash while many non-governmental organizations run on a very tight budget. For us at Host Color it is very important that those people get the online presence that they need."

Host Color also said on Friday that it is planning major software upgrades to its hosting platform.
