(November 10, 2000) The Internet Corporationfor Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced today that twenty-four(24) additional companies have qualified to be accredited asdomain name registrars in the .com, .net and .org domains. Theyare:

These new 24 bring the total number ofcompanies that have met the criteria for accreditation to 159.The new registrars will become part of the Shared RegistrationSystem ("SRS"), the domain name registration systemfor competitive registrars in the .com, .net, and .org top-leveldomains. Stability of the Internet and continuity for consumersare protected by the requirement that every business desiringto become a registrar in top-level domains must first becomeaccredited by ICANN. Under the SRS competing ICANN-accreditedregistrars register domain names utilizing one shared, centralregistry operated and maintained by Verisign Global RegistryServices. Inc.
