The company, publisher of The Fayetteville Observer, is attempting to retrieve four computers from AIT's headquarters in Fayetteville, North Carolina it says are worth $8,000.
The suit, reports say, is related to AIT claims that the publisher defrauded advertisers on its Web site (hosted by AIT) by providing inaccurate information about the site's traffic and the number of visitors who view and click on advertisements.
Clarence Briggs, CEO of AIT, said in the report that it will keep the computers for the time being on the advice of counsel. AIT's legal representatives said data on the computers might be needed to prove the company's fraud accusations.
