Jan 24, 2006 : Verizon Launches Government Unit


📅 - Internet service and communications provider Verizon (verizon.com) said on Monday that it had launched Verizon Business, a new unit focused on large enterprise and government customers. 
The new unit, combining the former Verizon Enterprise Solutions Group with MCI, will offer a complete portfolio of communications and IT solutions, including data and IP networking solutions, managed services, VoIP, IT services, customer premises equipment and all-distance voice services, both wireless and wired.

"The launch of Verizon Business is a game-changing event in the business communications marketplace," says John Killian, president of Verizon Business. "While our unparalleled network assets and next-generation products help customers transform the way they do business, our customer-first philosophy will redefine the service delivery model for our industry."

Verizon Business serves 94 percent of the Fortune 500. Its customers include Boeing, CSX and McDonald's.
