📅 - Data center operator and colocation provider TELEHOUSE (telehouse.com) announced on Thursday that, along with co-hosts Optical Communications Group and ISPnet, it will hold its free, monthly Breakfast on Broadway seminar on Wednesday, February 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Broadway Center in Manhattan.
February's seminar first narrows in on the availability, capacity and impact of a new, completely underground dark fiber network connecting the areas of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island and New Jersey.
Ed Stegeman, OCG's vice president, will discuss how this new route affects the area's telecom dynamic, the technical advantages of the various networks in the area and the role that fully underground networks play in regulatory and compliance solutions for the enterprise.
The seminar's focus will then transition to ISP clients need for greater network security, redundancy and geographical location. ISPnet president Bob Tinkelman will address the key issues ISPs should consider in today's marketplace in regards to technology, networking, client operations and physical locations.
Telehouse announced last week that it had completed the new dark fiber routes.
