Melbicom Launches Dedicated Servers, VPS and CDN in Marseille
📅 - The new location expands Melbicom's Mediterranean reach with on-net links to Paris, Frankfurt and Singapore.
VILNIUS, Lithuania, September 15, 2026. Melbicom, an EU-headquartered infrastructure operator, has opened its Marseille location for orders, with dedicated servers, Cloud VPS and custom hardware, alongside a new point of presence (PoP) for Premium and Volume CDN. The launch expands local infrastructure choice for customers serving Southern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, with dedicated server ports up to 100 Gbps.
A Mediterranean Gateway to Three Continents
Marseille is a major interconnection hub for EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) and a gateway to Asia. The city brings together European terrestrial networks and subsea cable systems including AAE-1, SEA-ME-WE 4 and PEACE, giving businesses a base for regional delivery and intercontinental connectivity.
According to TeleGeography's July 2026 analysis, Marseille ranks sixth worldwide by international Internet capacity, with more than 100 Tbps of connectivity across international borders.
The city's peering ecosystem includes France-IX Marseille, which reports more than 120 connected networks, and DE-CIX Marseille. These Internet exchanges enable participating networks to exchange traffic directly, reducing reliance on transit intermediaries and creating opportunities for shorter paths and lower latency.
Global Network, Local Advantage
Marseille, Frankfurt and Singapore are interconnected on Melbicom's own backbone, keeping traffic between the three locations on-net. The expansion gives new customers a Mediterranean deployment point connected to Europe and Asia, while improving connectivity for existing customers on these routes.
This investment continues Melbicom's work to improve routing efficiency and reduce latency across its network.
For data-intensive workloads such as video streaming and software distribution, the Marseille CDN PoP delivers cached content closer to regional users, while origin servers can remain hosted elsewhere. Latency-sensitive services, including fintech applications and APIs, can benefit from improved backbone connectivity without relocating their application servers or primary data stores.
Cloud Connectivity and EU Data Residency
Marseille's wider infrastructure ecosystem offers private connectivity to cloud platforms, supporting enterprises planning hybrid infrastructure and disaster-recovery architectures.
For organizations planning around French or EU data-residency requirements, Marseille adds a French hosting option within the EU's regulatory framework. Regional applications can be deployed in the EU while serving users across the Mediterranean.
Dedicated Servers, Cloud VPS and CDN
Customers can choose from four complementary services in Marseille:
- Dedicated servers: Bare-metal infrastructure with network ports up to 100 Gbps for workloads requiring dedicated compute and high throughput.
- Cloud VPS: Virtual servers for regional applications, websites and supporting services.
- Premium and Volume CDN: A Marseille PoP on both networks for delivering cacheable content, including video, software releases and large files.
- Custom hardware: Builds configured around processor, memory, storage and network requirements, with AMD or Intel CPUs, NVMe storage and optional GPUs.
For dedicated and custom server deployments, BGP and BYOIP options let customers define routing policy and use their own IP address space. Custom configurations and deployment timing can be agreed with the Melbicom team around the workload and capacity required.
Availability
Marseille dedicated servers and Cloud VPS are available to order now, and the CDN PoP is live on both Premium and Volume networks. Customers requiring custom hardware can contact Melbicom with their specifications, traffic profile and target deployment date.
Product details are available on Melbicom's Marseille infrastructure and CDN pages. Deployment inquiries can be directed to Melbicom.
