Huawei Cloud Plans November Launch for Overseas AI Clusters
📅 - Huawei Cloud will make its latest AI Cluster Service available outside China on November 30, extending a product it says can recover from faults within 10 minutes and deliver 20% more token throughput than its previous compute service. The rollout gives international buyers another option for demanding AI workloads, though the performance figures lack disclosed test conditions.
The dates are unusually concrete for a broad AI platform presentation. The service is due to be sold in China from September 30, with international availability two months later. For a team training models across many machines, a failed component can interrupt an expensive run; recovery time and stable scheduling [...][... Check source for end of article ...]
📅 - MeetKai and Kyivstar Plan a Ukraine Sovereign AI Data Center - MeetKai and Kyivstar plan to build a sovereign AI data center in Ukraine, with initial capacity targeted for 2027 and a design that could grow from 15 MW to 100 MW. The project anchors MeetKai's rollout across six countries on NVIDIA infrastructure, but the scale of the facility, and the readiness of the other deployments, remain unproven.
The commercial proposition is more specific than a national AI slogan. MeetKai and Kyivstar would operate the Ukrainian site and sell compute and AI services to government agencies, critical infrastructure operators, businesses, and Kyivstar customers. That places a telecom operator in the role of local cloud provider, with models and sensitive data [...]
📅 - Connectbase Lists Fidium Fiber Across 485,000 Business Sites - Connectbase has added Fidium's fiber footprint across more than 485,000 commercial locations to its connectivity marketplace, giving wholesale buyers visibility into where service may be available. For carriers and managed service providers, the immediate gain is finding and qualifying routes. Whether that visibility translates into faster orders depends on pricing, provisioning, and the data behind each listing.
A network can pass a building and still be awkward to buy. Sales teams need to establish whether the address is serviceable, which products are offered, and how long installation will take. Fidium's expanded presence in Connectbase's Connected World platform is meant to bring [...]
📅 - Ciena Opens $200M Fund for Network and Interconnect Startups - Ciena is creating a $200 million corporate venture program aimed at early stage networking, optical, data center and adjacent infrastructure technologies, giving the equipment vendor a direct financial stake in technologies emerging around AI connectivity. The move extends Ciena beyond internal research and acquisitions as operators confront bandwidth growth, denser compute clusters and changing interconnect architectures worldwide.
For data center operators and network buyers, the more useful signal is where Ciena intends to look for technology rather than the size of the fund itself. Ciena Ventures will invest in early stage companies and technology focused venture funds across [...]
📅 - Russian Strikes Force Ukraine to Reassess Data Center Protection - Ukraine plans stronger protection for data centers and communications facilities after Russian strikes damaged providers and disrupted internet service for about 100,000 households. A facility housing MiroHost equipment was destroyed, while operators reported damaged network nodes and lost hardware. The government's decisions have not been detailed, leaving operators to confront a problem: keeping services running through attacks.
The losses are uneven. MiroHost founder Oleksandr Olshanskyi said most of the company's customers run on infrastructure outside Ukraine and remain unaffected, but he could not give a recovery date for its Ukrainian capacity. Cityhost reported destroyed [...]
📅 - TD SYNNEX Revenue Jumps 38% as AI Systems Unit Outperforms - TD SYNNEX reported quarterly revenue of $21.6 billion, up 37.7% from a year earlier, as its Hyve Solutions business performed above management's expectations. Hyve supplies compute, storage, and networking systems used in cloud and accelerated computing. The figures point to infrastructure spending, though TD SYNNEX did not disclose how much of the increase came from AI hardware.
The missing Hyve sales figure matters. TD SYNNEX is both a broad technology distributor and a manufacturer of systems for cloud customers. Its fiscal third quarter ended August 31, and the record consolidated result captures demand across that entire mix. Management says enterprise AI is moving toward wider [...]
📅 - Alibaba Cloud Plans Türkiye, Finland and Netherlands Regions - Alibaba Cloud plans to open its first cloud regions in Türkiye, Finland and the Netherlands within 12 months, extending a network spanning 31 regions. The expansion arrives alongside tools for selling, routing and producing artificial intelligence services. For enterprise buyers, the question is whether local capacity and lower claimed inference costs translate into dependable production economics.
The new locations could change procurement calculations for organizations that need workloads closer to users or must meet local data handling requirements. Alibaba Cloud also plans additional data centers in Malaysia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France and Hong Kong. But a region [...]
