Germany Defines Cloud Sovereignty Rules for Providers

📅 - Germany's cybersecurity authority is stepping into the cloud sovereignty debate with a new framework designed to define what "sovereign" actually means in practice. The move comes as European governments and enterprises grow uneasy about dependence on non-European hyperscalers, even as those providers continue to dominate critical infrastructure and public sector workloads today.

Federal Office for Information Security, known as BSI, has published what it calls Criteria Enabling Cloud Computing Autonomy, or C3A. The timing is not accidental.
