📅 - Europe has added another building block to its growing quantum computing infrastructure with the inauguration of Euro-Q-Exa in Munich. The new system, unveiled on 12 February at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ), becomes the latest addition to the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking's expanding family of quantum computers.
Euro-Q-Exa is a 54-qubit digital quantum computer supplied by IQM Quantum Computers. The system is owned by EuroHPC and represents a total investment of €25 million, with €10 million funded directly by EuroHPC and the remainder provided by German federal and Bavarian state authorities.
