Corero Expands DDoS Deal with NorthC for Secure Growth in Europe
📅 - Corero Network Security, global provider of distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection solutions, has announced the renewal and expansion of its strategic partnership with NorthC Data Centers, a key regional data center operator in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. The new three-year agreement is expected to support NorthCs international growth strategy, including its ongoing expansion into Germany.
NorthCs digital infrastructure would be strengthened with Coreros real-time, adaptive DDoS defense capabilities.
The extended partnership would underscore the increasing importance of robust cybersecurity frameworks as data center providers scale to meet rising demand across [...][... Check source for end of article ...]

📅 - Quantum Computing Begins to Look Like Data Center Engineering - IBM has linked two modular cryogenic systems into a single ultra-cold environment, an infrastructure milestone aimed at scaling future fault-tolerant quantum computers. The significance is less about quantum software than the physical systems required to support it: refrigeration, wiring density, chip interconnects, control electronics, and a modular architecture designed to accommodate far larger quantum machines over time.
The two connected cryogenic modules are more than eight feet tall and eight feet wide. IBM says the combined system reached 4 Kelvin in less than five days before cooling below 15 millikelvin. That is the operating territory required by superconducting quantum [...]
📅 - IBM Builds Dual AI Strategy with OpenAI and Together AI - IBM is assembling an enterprise AI strategy deliberately spanning both proprietary frontier models and open-source inference. Within two days, the company unveiled an OpenAI consulting and deployment partnership and a $240 million Together AI infrastructure agreement, putting IBM across application modernization, cybersecurity, model deployment and Nvidia-powered compute rather than tying its enterprise business to one model ecosystem.
The two deals expose a broader commercial calculation. IBM does not need enterprises to agree on whether proprietary or open models ultimately dominate production AI. With OpenAI, it can sell consulting, integration and security work around GPT-5.6, Codex [...]
📅 - TierPoint Expands Managed Security with Always-On DDoS Defense - TierPoint is expanding its managed security portfolio with an always-on distributed denial-of-service protection service built on Corero technology, targeting enterprises running dedicated internet, colocation, private cloud, and hybrid infrastructure. The launch reflects growing demand for network-level defenses that can respond to increasingly automated attacks without introducing latency or requiring customers to manage mitigation themselves.
DDoS attacks rarely generate the same attention as ransomware or data breaches. They are often shorter. Sometimes less sophisticated. Yet for cloud providers, hosting companies, financial institutions, healthcare organizations, and digital [...]
📅 - NovoServe Expands Amsterdam Bare Metal Capacity by 150 Racks - Dutch IaaS company NovoServe is adding 150 racks of bare metal capacity across two data centers in the Amsterdam area, expanding at existing facilities operated by NorthC and maincubes. The company plans 80 racks and 400kW at Oude Meer this summer, followed by 70 racks and 300kW at Schiphol Rijk in two phases over the coming months, according to NovoServe in total.
The expansion is concentrated at sites NovoServe already uses, rather than at a new campus. It is a capacity increase inside an established operating footprint, divided between NorthC Datacenters in Oude Meer and maincubes in Schiphol Rijk.
For customers, the immediate change is straightforward: more room for dedicated servers [...]
📅 - IBM Acquires HRL to Expand Quantum Hardware and Sensing Research - IBM has agreed to acquire HRL Laboratories, the Boeing- and General Motors-owned research group, adding silicon-spin qubit engineering, quantum sensing and advanced materials expertise to its expanding quantum program. The deal gives IBM a second hardware path alongside superconducting qubits while extending its reach into defense, navigation, communications and government-funded research, subject to regulatory approval this year.
The transaction is less about replacing IBM's current quantum architecture than buying optionality. IBM has spent years organizing its quantum roadmap around superconducting qubits, error correction and progressively larger systems. HRL brings a different device [...]
