📅 - Web hosting provider Intermedia (intermedia.net) announced on Monday it is offering SpamStopper to all its Exchange hosting customers, providing protection for their Microsoft Exchange mailboxes.
Custom-developed for Intermedia.NET's Exchange environment, the service is based on open-source anti-spam engine SpamAssassin. It employs a sophisticated weighting system to classify email as 'junk'. SpamStopper is priced as an optional add-on to Microsoft Exchange hosting, at $1 per mailbox per month, and is added account-wide to protect all mailboxes.
"Spam can be a serious drag on business productivity," says Serguei Sofinski, CEO of Intermedia. "With the new SpamStopper product, customers of our industry-leading hosted Exchange can enjoy sophisticated spam protection built in to their service, with almost no management required on their part."
In addition to anti-spam, it also includes content filtering to protect against bad headers and suspect attachments. SpamStopper complements the free anti-virus service Antigen for Exchange by Sybari, which is included free with every Intermedia hosted Exchange account.
