LINX Expands to Mombasa, Enhancing East Africas Digital Connectivity

📅 November 12, 2024 - The London Internet Exchange (LINX)has announced the addition of LINX Mombasa to its global network, marking a significant expansion of interconnection services in Kenya. This new Internet Exchange Point (IXP) aims to bolster the regions digital infrastructure, enhance connectivity across East Africa, and facilitate local traffic exchange, which is expected to significantly reduce network costs and latency.

This expansion comes as LINX deepens its collaboration with iColo, a local data center operator and subsidiary of Digital Realty, following the successful launch of LINX Nairobi, the continent's first IXP, one year ago.
