Global Data Center M&A Deals Surge, Approaching Record Levels
📅 - Following a little slowdown in 2023, data center-focused M&A transactions globally are expected to reach the $40 billion mark in 2024, according to new data from Synergy Research Group. In terms of the total value of all agreements that were officially concluded, the years 2021 and 2022 represent the pinnacle.
Specialist data center operators were not ready to risk their balance sheets, or they have not been able to fund those investments themselves, said Chief Analyst at Synergy Research Group, John Dinsdale.The overall concluded transaction value in both years was around $50 billion.
