Kioxia Unveils Broadband SSD for Next-Gen Green Data Centers

📅 August 9, 2024 - A broadband SSDprototype with an optical interface for next-generation data centers was introduced this week by Kioxia Corporation, a global memory solutions provider, at the FMS: the Future of Memory and Storage conference in Santa Clara, Calif.

This new SSD technology would maintain good signal quality and energy efficiency despite increasing the physical distance between computing and storage devices and downsizing wiring by replacing an optical interface with electrical wiring. It would also give data center system architectures and applications great flexibility.
