RETN Expands Global Network Into Middle East with New PoP in Dubai

📅 July 31, 2024 - Independent global network services provider RETN has announced the launch of a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Dubai, marking its first significant foray into the Middle East. This strategic expansion is designed to bolster RETNs network, enhancing connectivity between Europe and Asia.

Located in Dubai Production Citys Equinix DX1, the new network PoP leverages both subsea cables to Marseille and a terrestrial route to Istanbul. The use of terrestrial connections would enhance network diversity and stability, mitigating the typical challenges associated with relying solely on subsea connections, such as multiple fiber cuts and extended repair times.
