📅 August 1, 2006 - Web hosting provider eApps Hosting (eapps.com) announced on Tuesday it has begun offering secure virtual private network tunnels for a low monthly fee.


Eapps Hosting says the new VPN Web hosting service uses an open source technology called OpenVPN and enables companies to run a secure file server or secure Web application for their employees, customers and partners. OpenVPN uses industry standard SSL and TLS encryption and a certificate authentication scheme to create secure connections between client computers and the host server.

For $50 per month customers can use the eApps VPN hosting solution to secure data between their virtual private server hosted at the eApps data center and their local computers.
