📅 September 12, 2006 - The Planet-EV1Servers (theplanet.com -> softlayer.com -> ibm.com) announced on Monday it has named Steve Kahan its new vice president of marketing and product management. Bringing more than 20 years of technology industry experience, he will be responsible for leading the strategic marketing direction of the company.

"This is a tremendous addition to the company," says Douglas J. Erwin, chairman and CEO. "Steve has a track record of executing breakthrough strategies for technology companies and he has already developed some very aggressive ideas to help move our company forward."

Kahan joins the company follows the recent announcement of Kevin Klausmeyer as CFO and Joseph Horzepa as general counsel, all joining Erwin as the core executive leadership team. Together, their primary objective is to strategically grow the company and develop it into a premier Web hosting provider.

Kahan was most recently president and CEO of IT network protection firm Alert Logic. He also served as vice president of worldwide marketing for security policy compliance company BindView, and as vice president of marketing during PentaSafe's acquisition by NetIQ in 2003.
