Rackspace will host the magazine's Web site, which attracts more than 250,000 unique visitors per month with exclusive content that includes news, album reviews, photo exclusives, audio and video clips and free downloads.
SPIN's open source platform-developed Web site is a key revenue generator for the publication and requires a high-availability environment, says Rackspace. Spin's infrastructure was originally managed by the magazine's IT team in a colocation facility, but soon consumed too much of the team's time maintaining infrastructure uptime and scalability rather than ideally focusing on their core IT functions of Web design and development
After weighing out the possible options, SPIN decided to outsource its hosting needs to Rackspace Intensive Hosting for Enterprise Linux because of its specialty in enterprise Linux, ability to deploy the solution quickly and guarantee uptime.
"This year, we switched to an energetic, blog-style format with engaging content that is updated several times daily. Now our IT staff has realigned efforts to develop and maintain this online presence while the Rackspace team ensures the infrastructure," says Joshua Glaser, IT manager for SPIN. "Rackspace's Linux expertise gives us the specialized fanatical support that we need to optimize and maintain our open source platform."

📅 - Rackspace Turns AMD Alliance Into 30 MW AI Deployment - Rackspace has moved its AMD enterprise AI partnership from memorandum to deployment plan, signing a definitive agreement for an initial 30 MW of AMD-based compute across its global data center footprint from late 2026 through 2028, as cloud providers race to turn AI ambitions into governed infrastructure enterprises might actually trust and buy.
The important part is not just the 30 MW figure. It is the move from intent to committed deployment. At least on paper.
The agreement operationalizes the memorandum of understanding announced in May and places AMD deeper inside Rackspace's managed AI proposition, with Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs becoming part of what Rackspace calls a governed AI [...]
📅 - Rackspace And AMD Develop Governed Enterprise AI Platform - Rackspace Technology and AMD are sketching out a longer-term attempt to reshape enterprise AI infrastructure around governance, dedicated compute, and operational accountability, rather than the increasingly chaotic market for rented GPU access. The two companies signed a multiyear strategic partnership framework this week centered on managed AI infrastructure aimed at regulated industries and sovereignty-sensitive workloads globally.
Rackspace and AMD are effectively trying to capitalize on a growing frustration inside enterprise AI deployments. Companies can access GPU infrastructure almost anywhere now, assuming they can afford it. Running those systems in production environments [...]

Over 90% of the more than 1,400 IT decision-makers surveyed said they intend to significantly alter their cloud approach in the next two years. 48% of those surveyed said that throughout the next 12 to 24 months, a hybrid cloud for multi-environment deployment would be essential to their IT operations.
Furthermore, the findings showed that 20% want to invest in private cloud, and 22% will speed up the implementation of hybrid [...]
