Jul 28, 2018 - ROOT Data Center Announces Plans to Build Third Data Center in Montréal - Canadian colocation services provider ROOT Data Center has announced plans to build a third data center to become part of its MTL-R1 La Salle campus in Montréal. MTL-R1B is a greenfield data center development that will create an additional 10MW of power capacity, allowing ROOT Data Center to meet the growing demands of new and existing customers.

Roughly 20 percent of the new facility's capacity has been pre-sold prior to beginning construction. Jun 8, 2018 - ROOT Data Center Expands Its Montréal, Canada Data Center, MTL-R2, Adds 6MW of Power Capacity - ROOT (rootdatacenter.com) Data Center, a Canadian company with two colocation data centers located in the Montréal metropolitan area, has added an additional 6MW of power capacity to its MTL-R2 facility – one of Canada's largest wholesale/hyper-scale data centers. The first of the new colocation data halls at ROOT's MTL-R2 facility is currently under construction.

The deployment of the first of the two new data halls at ROOT's MTL-R2 facility is projected to be completed by June 2018, with the second following by late summer. ROOT Data Center has already signed agreements to provide the majority of the available power capacity.
