The year 2018 not only (yet again) shocked the world by highlighting systemic cyber security issues. Multiple governments adopted new rules and laws, which are making a global impact now and will echo for years to come. Still, 2019 can bring some hope for the future – but only if governments and corporations understand the importance of digital privacy and security.

Based on the outcomes from 2018, as a Digital Privacy Expert, here are five significant trends that I expect to shape cyber security and digital privacy in 2019:

Identity theft, phishing scams, and personal data loss will hit a new high – From Facebook ...
coresite.com logo📅 - CoreSite Adds AWS Logical Redundancy To Its Silicon Valley Data Center - Data center and interconnection solutions provider CoreSite has announced availability of a second native point of connectivity to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect at CoreSite's Silicon Valley data center campus. With the addition of ‘AWS logical redundancy' capability, CoreSite customers can improve resiliency by establishing two logical Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peering sessions with two AWS devices over a single physical AWS Direct Connect connection.

📅 - ‘No End In Sight for Global Hyperscale Data Center Market Growth’ - The number of large data centers operated by hyperscale providers rose by 11% in 2018 to reach 430 by year-end, according to new data from Synergy Research Group. In addition to the 430 current hyperscale data centers Synergy Research has the visibility of a further 132 that are at various stages of planning or building. There would be no end in sight to the data center building boom.

The global hyperscale data center count jumped to 43 in 2018, while another 132 hyperscale data centers are in the pipeline.
