Microservices Firewall Innovator Alcide Raises $7 Million to Expand in US, EMEA
📅 - Alcide, a company providing its Microservices Firewall that enables application-aware security controls for cloud infrastructure, workloads and external service mesh against different attack scenarios, has raised $7 million in Series A funding from new investor CE Ventures (twitter.com) alongside existing investors Intel Capital and Elron.
The new funding, announced only seven months after the Alcide cloud-native security platform (alcide.io)'s general availability and the company's selection as a Gartner Cool Vendor, will be used to support a go-to-market strategy for Alcide and a significant expansion into the US and EMEA markets.

This capability would be the result of a new integration with AWS X-Ray, which traces serverless calls while they run on AWS-operated infrastructure.
Traces from AWS X-Ray, as well as metrics and logs data from Lambda functions, are available in a new serverless-centric user interface called Datadog Cloud Functions. Both of these new features are available for public beta.

📅 - Object Storage Company Cloudian Doubles Revenue - Cloudian (cloudian.com)'s revenue for the first three quarters of fiscal 2019 (Feb. 1-Oct. 31, 2018) doubled over the same period last year.
