📅 - At its first annual OCP Regional Summit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (opencompute.org) being held 1 – 2 October 2018, the Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) has announced that Huawei is the fifth member from China to join the Open Compute Project. Huawei joins OCP as a Platinum member.
The Open Compute Project (OCP) was initiated by Facebook in 2011 with a mission to apply "the benefits" of open source to hardware and rapidly increase the pace of innovation in, near and around the data center and beyond. Since then, OCP stimulated open source contributions for networking, servers, storage and Open Rack.

📅 - Infinera Now Becomes One of the World’s Largest Optical Network Equipment Providers - After closing the acquisition of Coriant this week, Infinera (infinera.com) will become one of the largest global suppliers of open network solutions for the largest global network operators. Infinera issued 20,975,384 shares of its common stock and will pay an aggregate amount of cash consideration consisting of approximately $230 million, of which approximately $154 million was paid upon closing.
