📅 August 30, 2018 - Spotinst (spotinst.com) has raised $35 million in new funding as part of a Series-B funding round led by Highland. All existing investors including Intel Capital, Vertex Ventures, and Leaders Fund have participated, to support further growth of Spotinst's AI-based cloud workload management platform, Elastigroup.

Penguin Computing's expansion plans include a two-building campus with a new, "state-of-the art" production facility, along with the creation of both a benchmarking and innovation lab and a customer briefing center. These new headquarters are expected to open by the end of 2018.

VMware would pay approximately $500 million for the Boston, Massachusetts-based startup.
