All existing investors including Intel Capital, Vertex Ventures, and Leaders Fund have participated, to support further growth of Spotinst's AI-based cloud workload management platform, Elastigroup.

Octave Klaba, CTO/CEO and founder of OVH Group, one of the world's largest cloud and web hosting companies – of French origin, has appointed Michel Paulin as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the OVH Group. Michel Paulin will lead the execution of OVH's "Smart Cloud" strategic plan, which aims to consolidate OVH's role as an "alternative" leader in cloud.

📅 - Penguin Computing Expands Its Global Headquarters and Innovation Lab Capacity - Penguin Computing, a global provider of high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), as well as enterprise data center and cloud solutions, has announced the expansion of its global headquarters in Fremont, California. Penguin Computing's expansion plans include a two-building campus with a new, "state-of-the art" production facility, along with the creation of both a benchmarking and innovation lab and a customer briefing center. These new headquarters are expected to open by the end of 2018.

📅 - VMware Acquires Multi-Cloud Operations Platform, CloudHealth Technologies #vmworld #vmworld2018 - At VMworld 2018 in Las Vegas, VMware (vmware.com) has announced its acquisition of CloudHealth Technologies – a startup with over 3,000 global customers delivering a cloud operations platform across AWS Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. VMware would pay approximately $500 million for the Boston, Massachusetts-based startup.
CloudHealth Technologies' platform enables customers to help analyze and manage cloud cost, usage, security, and performance centrally for native public clouds. The transaction is expected to close in VMware's fiscal Q3 2019, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
