📅 - Recently, VMWare and Amazon Web Services created a partnership. This partnership will allow AWS to sell VMWare's data center automation software as an Amazon cloud service.
The two companies are aimed at taking over the enterprise market and it's a strategic move for both. Amazon was looked at as a competitor of VMware. The release of the VMware Software Defined Data Center Platform will happen next, year, as well.

📅 - Texas Research Helps Data Centers Meet SLAs - Data Center operators struggle to meet service level objectives in order to keep customers happy. In order to meet those demands, data centers often over provision the servers, which inflates operating costs and creates inefficiency.
An Associate professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, Hao Che, has been awarded $799,950 in a grant by the National Science Foundation. The grant was awarded to help Che develop his model of delivery without the over provisioning.

The next set of bids for Imperva are due next month and Silver Lake may be looking to team up with another partner to make the offer.
