Digital Realty’s EMEA Business will be Run by Ex-Telecity Executive
📅 - Rob Coupland, a former executive of the TelecityGroup, will run the Europe, Middle East and Africa business for Equinix. Digial Realty released a statement stating Coupland had been appointed to run the eight European data centers after the acquisition.
This appointment comes during some very big changes in the European market for data centers. After the Equinix-Telecity merger changes them in the market, a new dominate player was formed, which is unlikely to be surpassed by any other company anytime soon.

📅 - Digital Realty’s EMEA Business Has New Exec - Rob Coupland has been appointed head of the Digital Realty Trust of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Coupland is the former executive of TelecityGroup, a European data center.
Digital Realty released a statement, explaining Coupland's appoinment as related to it's recent acquisition of eight European data centers.
With Coupland's appointment and the Equinix-Telecity merger creating a new dominate company, these could be signs of big changes coming to the European data center market.

📅 - Amazon and Google Race to Most Data Centers - In the cloud data center, more is the name of the game. Thursday, Amazon Web Services announced that it will add another set of cloud centers near Paris in 2017. Amazon already has cloud facilities in Dublin, Frankfurt, and another coming soon in the U.K.
Google is also gearing up to compete with Amazon, by adding more data centers in Mumbai, Sydney, Sao Paolo, Finland and also Frunkfurt.
Microsoft is jumping into the race as well, by opening two facilities in Germany.
