Sep 23, 2016 : More DDoS Attacks Reported Nationwide

📅 September 23, 2016 - DDoS attacks have been reported in increased numbers this week. The most massive DDoS attack reported this week was 665 Gbps in size and attacked cybersecurity journalist Brian Krebs' website, Krebs on Security, through its Prolexic DDoS mitigation service. The attack forced Akamai to drop the website due to its magnitude.

Other attacks have been seen in the hosting industry this week, hitting websites like Cogent and OVH. Krebs suggested that “whoever built this DDoS cannon has been testing it.” At press time, Krebs' website is still offline.
