📅 - Eddie Bauer Latest in Malware Attack - Eddie Bauer, the outdoor clothing retailer is the latest company to fall victim to a point-of-sale malware attack. The company has admitted that many of their customer's credit card information has been stolen.
Eddie Bauer said that more than 300 of their stores in the U.S. and Canada had fallen victim to the malware attack.

📅 - CodeGuard Launches Malware Monitoring and Remediation Service - Recently, CodeGuard, a website backup service, announced a new service for malware monitoring. They also announced a remediation service called MalwareGone. ChangeAlert is the monitoring service used to monitor websites for malware and MalwareGone will be used to protect the website.
MalwareGone will even offer insights into zero-day attacks and will help to provide automatic fixes when malware is found on a website. CodeGuard is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and it's known as a leader in cloud website backup services.

📅 - New Data Center Consolidation Plan Released by Pentagon - The US Department of Defense may be the largest data center operator in the world. They recently announced a new plan for consolidation of the data centers. The plan was announced after a report from the government watchdog pointing out that they were not meeting their goals.
The Pentagon has cost cutting and consolidation goals they would like to meet and optimizing the plan will help them meet these goals. They will be building cloud computing environments for different departments and trying to reach six other goals.

📅 - Health Data Startup Gliimpse Acquired by Apple - Fast Company is reporting that Apple acquired Gliimpse in a quiet deal earlier this year. Apple has not publicly announced the purchase however, they have confirmed the purchase, explaining “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”
Gliimpse, founded in 2013, gathers and organizes users' health data from multiple platforms, and produces a single shareable report, which can be be used to provide physicians with a complete medical record.

📅 - Xero Suffers Glitch in Transfer to AWS - Xero, the online accounting service, suffered from a glitch during it's transfer to the companies new cloud-hosting partner, Amazon Web Services. The glitch occurred during the scheduled four-hour outage, which resulted in a longer period offline and disruption to customers.
There are about 500 specialist software applications that have been built on Xero by software partners, and many customers experienced a “degraded” performance, according to Xero spokeswoman Alex Mercer.
Xero also had problems Monday morning resolving an issue that was preventing costomers from logging on to Xero, through Apple's Safari internet browser.
