Post Safe Harbor Era Creates New Opportunities for Service Providers

📅 July 1, 2016 - Reuters reported that for the first time, fines were imposed on German companies for continuing to uphold the Safe Harbor Privacy principles. The European Union high court invalidated the agreement back in October of 2015.

The stakes are high – EU personal data being transferred to the US without consent of every user in every case is strictly prohibited. Companies that ignore the ruling are subject to fines and legal proceedings.

How does that translate into new opportunities for service providers?

European Union companies are just as confused by the post-Safe Harbor restrictions as anyone. They're searching for solutions. US companies that want to have solutions in place in the future for handling clients and customers in the EU are also looking for help.

Providers in the US and EU that have knowledge of the little-known data traffic and can give advice or consultations on data migration to certain areas and locations see an opportunity to market their services to those affected by the ruling.
