📅 - Yahoo Japan plans to revamp their entire IT platform to run on OpenStack and Cloud Foundry. The company has partnered with SoftBank Group and will build the world's largest private cloud. This new platform will provide support for Japan's most popular web company for media, shopping, auctions and other services.
Yahoo Japan is the leader in web properties for PC users in Japan and trails Google with mobile users by just a small amount according to the Wall Street Journal. .

Amlan Ganguly has published research papers not he topic and his project will actually test this theory.
The grant was for about $600,000 and came from the National Science Foundation. It will fund the project over the next five years. While the project has been described as high-risk, it's one that could bring significant power efficiency to data centers everywhere. .

📅 - Intel Recently Announced They will be Downsizing - Intel, a PC chipmaker has announced a major downsizing they will go through due to the downtrend of PC sales. They will be laying off about 11% of the total number of employees by the middle of next year. This announcement comes after they lost about 5,000 staff members at the beginning of 2014 due to downsizing. The company is expected to save about $750 million from the layoffs and will be restructuring.
Intel was established in 1968 and its' head offices are found in Santa Clara, California. The company creates processing chips for PCs. The downsizing will mean as many as 12,000 people will be laid off and the company will be refocusing on cloud computing and IoT activity. .
📅 - Insightly Received $25 Million Investment - Insightly, a cloud-based customer relationship management company, recently received a $25 million investment to bring their series C round of funding to a total of $40 million. The investment included Scott Bommer of SAB Capital with other investors including Cloud Apps Capital Partners, Emergence Capital Partners and Sozo Ventures.
Insightly is headquartered in San Francisco, California and was originally established in 2009. They offer solutions including bringing together project management tools and CRM data on the cloud. .
