123-reg Hosting Company Inadvertently Deletes Customer’s Websites
📅 - UPDATE: The web hosting company has been identified as 123-reg.
Marco Marsala, the owner of a web hosting company, recently deleted everything on the servers the company uses. While it was an accident and it was caused by a single line of code typed into his computer, the issue has caused big problems for his company.
The story broke when Mr. Marsala was seeking advice on handling the issue. He was told that if everything had been deleted, he wouldn't be able to restore it without backups of the server. The code he accidentally typed in removed all of his backups, too, which means he pretty much nuked his entire company.
