Oracle Looking for $9.3 Billion in Copyright Battle with Google
📅 - Oracle is seeking $9.3 billion in damages due to a copyright battle with Google, which has been going on for quite some time. The case goes to court on May 9, 2016.
Oracle is claiming that Google needs to have a license to use the parts of the Java platform they are using in Android. The battle started a few years ago and in 2012 the jury was split on the case. The newer trial covers six more versions of Android including Lollipop.
Oracle is seeing about 10 times more than what it originally was seeking in 2012. .
